The concept is simple: Girls. Reading. Naked. On Friday, October 16 Pinchbottom Burlesque presents the New York City debut of Chicago's hit nude literary salon, NAKED GIRLS READING. Created by Michelle L'Amour (America's Got Talent, Burlesque Hall of Fame's Miss Exotic World 2005), the evening is a celebration of beautiful women sharing the books they love ... in the altogether.  The East Coast Premiere will feature local burlesque celebrities Jo Boobs, Gal Friday, Pinchbottom's Nasty Canasta, and more — as well as a very special guest appearance by Michelle L'Amour herself — reading selections from their favorite banned books.

Guests to the salon are invited to relax in the plush velvet upstairs lounge at Madame X and sip a cocktail while the girls read aloud the forbidden works of some of the greatest authors of all time. Classics such as Lady Chatterley's Lover, Memoirs of a Woman of Pleasure, and Alice In Wonderland, as well as more contemporary troublemaking texts will be brought to life as only naked women can bring them. Even censorship itself will take center stage with a dramatic reading of the 1954 Comics Code.

Says co-producer Jonny Porkpie (who, due to the nature of the event, will be neither naked nor reading at any time during it), "We're thrilled to be able to bring this fantastic series to New York City. And what better way to kick it off than with literature that censors have tried to suppress almost as much as they have the naked body? Great books deserve more exposure—and that's exactly what we're going to give them."

Join host Nasty Canasta, plus Gal Friday, GiGi La Femme, Jo Boobs, Legs Malone, Sapphire Jones, and very special guest Michelle L'Amour for a celebration of banned books and the naked girls who love to read them... aloud. The NYC debut of the hit literary salon NAKED GIRLS READING will appear at Madame X for one night only, Friday, October 16 at 8:00pm.

N.B. Though "Naked Girls Reading" premieres just two days before the 2009 edition of the American Library Associations "Teen Read Week", these two events are in no way connected. Naked Girls Reading is intended to encourage literacy in adults only.

ABOUT NAKED GIRLS READING
Naked Girls Reading began in Chicago in March 2009 as the idea of International Showgirl Michelle L’Amour and Franky Vivid.  The idea had rolled around in their heads for a few years in different formats, but with the opening of Studio L’amour in 2008 it materialized as the perfect intimate live event. By the end of 2009, Naked Girls Reading will be appearing in five major US cities, with more to follow in 2010 including several international chapters.
