THERE'S A BODY IN THE LIBRARY... and WHAT a BODY it is! Pinchbottom launches 2009 season by asking whodunnit in a brand-new classic British Murder Mystery Producer: Pinchbottom Burlesque Show Title: MURDER MOST NAKED (or, the Strange Affair at Pinchbottom Manor) Date: Saturday, January 17 at 10:30pm Venue: The Zipper Factory Theater Address: 336 West 37th Street, Manhattan Tickets: $20 purchase online: thezipperfactory.com, or by phone: 212-352-3101 TO: Scotland Yard FROM: Village Constabulary, Pinchford-Upon-Bottom Beg to report, Chief Inspector, that—despite some interference from meddlesome amateur detectives NASTY CANASTA and JONNY PORKPIE, who claim rather strenuously that the solution to this mystery lies beneath the suspects' clothing, and insist that they must "uncover the clues"—the inquiry into the incident known as "The Strange Affair at Pinchbottom Manor" is proceeding apace. As reported previously, the body of the widow Pinchbottom was discovered in a state of extreme undress, and regret to inform that the unfortunate death now appears to be a case of murder.... MURDER MOST NAKED. The constabulary, in conjunction with Miss Canasta and Mr. Porkpie, have vigorously questioned all in residence at the Manor when the incident took place, including drunken Duchess ANITA COOKIE, Major BASTARD KEITH of the Stiff-Upper-Lip Brigade, perky heiress CLAMS CASINO, Countess JO BOOBS, stern British Governess NAUGHTIA NICE, Vicar TIGGER!, Lady TRIXIE LITTLE & Lord EVIL HATE MONKEY, as well as many of the house staff, including the butler, chauffeur, and maid. (If you'll forgive a personal observation, the most mysteriously sexy group of suspects it has ever been my pleasure to interrogate.) As to why these dilettante sleuths persist in involving themselves in an official investigation, Miss Canasta had only this to say: "It's simply ripping! I do so love a good mystery, don't you? It's terribly exciting to strip away the layers of deception one by one, and finally arrive at the naked truth. Rest assured, Porkpie and I shall get to the bottom of this conundrum. (And that's not all we'll get to the bottom of!)" Miss Canasta proceeded then to wink in a suggestive manner. I remain confident, Chief Inspector, that the perpetrator will be brought to justice.
